Palampore Prints

“The inspiration for this new collection was drawn entirely from an 18th century Palampore quilt found at the V&A. From this antique textile has emerged a collection of 3 fabrics and wallpaper Palampore, Coromandel and Hindi Rose. A feast of beautifully drawn flowers, fruits and foliage this precious piece of workmanship was created on the Coromandel Coast of India using imagery adapted for the European market - and was eventually owned by G.P. Baker who donated it to the V&A the year before he died in 1951.”
