In what condition is the vintage wallpaper?

All vintage wallpaper is just, or nearly just, as good as new unless we describe it otherwise. Due to the vast amount of wallpaper in our stock we have only made a brief inventory of the rolls and examine them more closely as we get orders. Since the rolls from the 1960s and earlier never have been wrapped in plastic it is natural that they have some minor tears and marks in the beginning (ca 10 cm) due to storage and handling. We normally don´t give discounts for these minor damages but will tell you if we find any larger damages and give appropriate discounts. We usually sell the best rolls first.

Is it more difficult to hang vintage wallpaper?

For nearly all the vintage wallpaper standard rules for hanging paper wallpaper should be applied. In addition to this, the wallpaper made prior to ca 1970 need to be trimmed at the edges. This is not very difficult, the easiest way is probably to unfold the roll bit by bit and trim the edges with a knife and metal ruler, but it does take some time. In the description of each wallpaper we have stated whether the edges are trimmed or not.
Since old wallpaper is printed with water solluble distemper, they are more difficult to hang since you have to avoid getting water and glue stains on the front. From the end of the 1950s it is increasingly common that a thin plastic layer is applied on top of the distemper, thus making the wallpaper wipeable. In the description of each wallpaper we have stated whether the wallpaper is wipeable or not.

Do you send samples?

Yes, we send small (ca 20x15 cm) samples for 10 SEK/sample + 20 SEK shipping (hand printed wallpaper 30 SEK/sample), and larger samples (ca 50x50 cm) starting at 50 SEK/sample + 40 SEK shipping. We recommend buying samples before placing an order in order to be certain of the colour and texture of the wallpaper or fabric before ordering. Please note that we often have to order the samples ourselves from our suppliers which may take 1-4 weeks. Minor colour differences may exist between sample and final product.

Do I have to buy a full roll?

No, if we have a sample roll, which we have of nearly all vintage wallpaper and some new, it is possible to buy per meter as well. Prices start at 100 kr/m.

Why is my shopping cart suddenly empty / Why am I logged out?

Each time you log in, make a search or put something in the shopping cart, a session is started. During a session the webserver stores the information you send it and sees that it belongs to you (no personal information is sent to the webserver without your knowledge). For security reasons the sessions is closed if you have been inactive for a period, so that no one can use your account if you should forget to log out.

How do I pay?

For orders outside Sweden we only accept payment in advance. As you place an order we will give you our bank details where to transfer the payment together with information on shipping costs and expected delivery time. We also accept credit cards via Paypal with an additional 4% charge to cover the Paypal fees.
